Future Nursing Opportunities
Ashland University Nursing and Health Sciences Opportunity
Students wishing to explore healthcare-related careers (specifically nursing) should consider these opportunities, including the Ashland Nursing Open House and the UH Future Nurse Academy!
ASHLAND UNIVERSITY Nursing Program 2026 Spring Open House
The Open House for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences ~ MANSFIELD campus is fast approaching on Monday, February 16, from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm. Many high schools are closed on this holiday to observe Presidents' Day. This information is for students interested in nursing. See the attached flyer and use the QR code to register for specific sessions.
Applications for the fourth annual UH Future Nurse Academy are now open. Once again, we will host three distinct UH Future Nurse Academy sessions, each with a class of 25 students, in our east, west, and central regions, drawing students from across Northeast Ohio. Over the past three years, more than 2,000 high school students have applied to take part in this immersive program, and approximately 80% of the nearly 200 graduates of the UH Future Nurse Academy are enrolled in nursing school programs or plan to do so after they graduate high school.
We are opening this opportunity to our caregivers first. Do you know a Northeast Ohio high school student entering their junior or senior year in the fall who is interested in the exciting profession of nursing? Encourage them to visit our website and fill out an application. Applications are due Feb. 19, and space is limited, so don’t delay.
UH Future Nurse Academy
The UH Future Nurse Academy will build on the students' existing talents, skills, and gifts to prepare them for healthcare careers beyond high school. Students are nurtured with the thoughtful support of UH clinicians and partners. The two-week program includes visits to area college/university’s schools of nursing as well as local UH facilities. Students will also be introduced to well-being techniques and will learn different nursing skills with hands-on experience.
Our ultimate goal is that students follow their dream of becoming healthcare professionals and stay in the Northeast Ohio area where they grew up. The UH Future Nurse Academy flyer is available for download and sharing with friends and family members.
